When Chicago musicians Joe (Tony Curtis) and Jerry (Jack Lemmon) accidentally witness a mob shootout, they quickly hop on a train and, disguised as Josephine and Daphne, two new members of a girls' jazz band, head to Florida. Their camouflage is initially perfect. But then "Josephine" falls for a jilted singer (Marilyn Monroe), an aging playboy (Joe E. Brown) becomes enchanted by "Daphne," and a mob boss (George Raft) sees through their ruse!
