However, he gets tricked by dealers with counterfeit banknotes. To compensate for the damage he caused to his friends, he returns to Prague and starts searching for Richard, who sold him the fake money. He encounters Richard's shady gang several times, but over time he begins to earn money himself as a dealer and becomes a member of Richard's crew. However, his promising 'career' is thwarted by a confrontation with a much stronger and more influential group of dealers, backed by the cunning Karel. The film is a fresco of a time that is now almost incomprehensible, when tuzex vouchers, jeans, digital watches were sold on the sidewalk, and police officers were served hard Spartas with their snacks in the pub. Filming Bony a klid during the times of real socialism was almost akin to sci-fi. Nevertheless, Radek John collected a bunch of stories from the dealer environment and mixed them into a narrative...
