Four separate notebooks containing all the material for writing training, both developed and prescribed. The notebooks include exercises on letter elements, practice of both lowercase and uppercase letters, syllables, words, and sentences through copying, dictation, and self-dictation (i.e., writing based on pictures, leading up to tasks where students complete variously challenging assignments such as forming sentences, filling in letters in incomplete words, or writing words or sentences from a read article, etc.). The greatest advantage for teachers is the intact continuity of reading and writing instruction, ensured by references to pages in the Living Alphabet and the Primer, to which the material is linked. Thus, it is a cohesive set designed so that all its parts perfectly connect with each other.
