Director Ridley Scott, nominated for an Oscar® for his work on Gladiator, brings a stylish, star-studded detective thriller that will get your heart racing during its action-packed and suspenseful sequences. Oscar® winner Michael Douglas plays tough New York cop Nick Conklin, who is under investigation for taking dirty money. He and his partner Charlie (Oscar® nominee Andy Garcia) must escort a cold-blooded Japanese killer, Sato, back to his homeland. Unfortunately, they inadvertently hand the killer over to a gang instead of the Japanese police. A chase for the criminal begins in an unknown and hostile environment, aided by a local experienced but overly rule-abiding cop (Ken Takakura) and a beautiful companion (Kate Capshaw). The Americans will have to delve deep into the Osaka underworld, and Nick will strive to regain not only the lost criminal but also what he lost some time ago: his honor.
