Hollywood actor Nick Lang (MICHAEL J. FOX) is a star of grand adventure-romantic blockbusters, but he wants to try something different, preferably a realistic drama where he can prove that he is a really good actor. By chance, he sees an interview on television with John Moss (JAMES WOODS), a tough and uncompromising New York cop. Nick is excited and decides that his next film will be a gritty realistic crime story, and that he will gather material for the role alongside Moss. However, that is the last thing Moss wants.
