The story of a Czech woman and a Greek man told with a humorous perspective. ***** A humorous novel with autobiographical elements, "The Southerner and the Blonde" was first published in book form in 2012. ***** Read by Eva Hrušková and Jan Přeučil ***** The author, Jana Soukupová, was born in 1964 in Litvínov. She graduated from a secondary medical school but soon "escaped" to journalism. She studied social sciences at Charles University and Greek culture and philology at Aristotle University in Thessaloniki. She speaks of Greece, where she has lived for an extended period, studied, and worked in tourism, as her second homeland. She has published poetry collections "With Tenderness and Without" (1987) and "Shared Sins" (1998), and a short story collection "ZOO in a Panel House" (2003). She contributed to the anthology of North Bohemian and Lusatian Sorbian authors "Fear for My Little Owl" (1996), and to the collections "Counting Tones" (1996) and "You Can't Hold Back the Clouds" (1998). Her experiences from Greece are reflected in the book "On the Road 1 – Traveling with J. Bartoška and M. Donutil" (2009). The humorous novel with autobiographical elements "The Southerner and the Blonde" was first published in book form in 2012, and as an audiobook, it will be released in 2023.
