This Czech-language audiobook presents the eagerly awaited concluding volume of Kamil Pešťák’s spy thriller series. When the first part of the audio version of the planned tetralogy appeared in 2020, its mysterious story, set in the Dolomites and western Bohemia, won a strong response from listeners. It reflected the total freedom of the 1990s and the many previously unknown dangers that came with it, including drug smuggling through a famous band. The subsequent volumes followed the further fate of the protagonist Prófa, using dramatic references and flashbacks to move the story into the periods of both world wars and, at other times, the hell of Communist normalization. The final part takes place largely in the latter period. Prokop Falk, also known as Prófa, abandons his plans to emigrate and remains in Czechoslovakia with his pregnant girlfriend. Meanwhile, the Iron Curtain closes definitively and impenetrably. A chance meeting with a mysterious woman then sets off a chain of events that draws Prokop back into a web of intelligence games and intrigues.
