František begins to receive evidence of the existence of hell – and this, along with reviving memories of the past, robs him of peaceful sleep and sanity. Is the final reckoning approaching, or is the devil merely toying with him? Or has he completely lost his mind? The author of the short story collection Around Jakub, nominated for the Magnesia Litera award, enjoys putting his characters in extreme situations – this time he has gone straight for the devil.
