What if the events of 1989 brought the communist regime back to life? "Socialism hasn't ended, socialism continues," could be sung in Czechoslovakia in 2019 during the celebrations of the thirtieth anniversary of the suppression of the pro-democratic counter-revolution. The alternative history of the past three decades is experienced by the heroes of Alena Mornštajnová's new novel, whose world has not changed much since the so-called normalization – and if it has, it has only gotten worse. Maria's participation in the November demonstrations earned her fifteen years in prison, during which she spent time worrying about the fates of her husband, son, and daughter. Magdalena grew up in an institution for children whose parents, labeled as enemies of the regime, allegedly abandoned them, and who are to become new communist cadres. Nevertheless, the two will meet one day – and that moment will influence the rest of their lives... The new novel by the most-read domestic author plays with an alternative version of modern Czech history, illustrated by the tragic story of an ordinary family. Narrators: Eva Elsnerová, Veronika Khek Kubařová, Vilma Cibulková. Duration: 9 hours 32 minutes.
