Two years after Arťom rid the metro of the threat of the 'black devils,' he lives with his wife at his hometown station VDNCh, but he constantly replays in his mind the voice that briefly came from the radio atop the Ostankino tower. Are there other survivors somewhere outside the Moscow metro? This persistent thought keeps Arťom awake and turns into an obsession... until he sets out once again to seek answers to his questions.
