The complete text of classic fairy tales performed by actors from the Dejvické Theatre. It was back when the dog and the cat were managing together and wanted to do everything just like grown-ups do: wash the dirty floor, bake a cake, go for a walk on Sunday, write a letter, or put on a play. But since they are not humans, things don't always turn out the way they wish – their quirky solutions are always entertaining and original. In some stories, the dog and the cat also visit Mr. Čapek, with whom they discuss 'serious matters' and help him write stories for children. The text is based on the critical edition in the Works of Josef Čapek and, in addition to nine classic stories, includes the tale How the Dog and the Cat Celebrated October 28, which was omitted for political reasons after 1948. Instead of Čapek's well-known illustrations, the audiobook is accompanied by illustrations from the artistic duo Tomski&Polanski, who have approached their current version as a tribute to the author.
