Beschreibung
The best French detective novel of 2013, adorned with another 20 literary awards. While investigators Klement Nango and Nina Nansen from a special branch of the Norwegian police, specializing in reindeer herding issues, are playing the role of new partners, the village of Kautokeino is preparing for the return of an old shamanic drum. Many original drums were destroyed in the past due to religious battles against paganism, and thus the return of the first original is eagerly awaited, especially by the Sámi minority. When the rare artifact is stolen one frosty night, the suspects include church officials, Norwegian nationalists, and even Sámi separatists. The situation is further complicated by the gruesome murder of a reindeer herder. Klemet and Nina are convinced that both cases are connected, but they must first understand how the tragic events of the distant past, narrated by traditional throat-singing songs called joiks, reflect in the current crimes. Additionally, a corrupt colleague throws obstacles in their path, and a French geologist with a weakness for very young girls and nefarious intentions also ventures into the nearby regions. The individual parts are narrated by three seasoned audiobook interpreters: Igor Bareš, Jana Stryková, and Pavel Rímský.
