Kde domov můj - CD

The title of Veit's album Kde domov můj suggests that it could be about searching for or building a home. The reflective text in the booklet begins with a reminder of Jiří Voskovec's ancient bon mot about a hat on a coat rack, but the wandering songwriter Vladimír Veit, with his seven crosses, has experienced so many homes that he can confidently affirm that home is where he feels good, surrounded by pleasant people and friends, and of course 'girlfriends.' For his album, recorded twenty years ago, he included songs about what is meaningful: love, truth, hope, and understanding. Our first official release is expanded with four songs recorded in 2015, which suitably complement the album. The quiet songwriter from the Šafrán generation never stirred up and did not wave a torch on the barricades, but took a different path: he persistently invites listeners into his world, where there is room for dreams, hope, magical flowers, and fireflies. And although in it 'the shadows lengthen' and 'the circle slowly closes,' he always allows listeners to 'meet in a dream after the rain a blooming spring day' or 'happiness hidden in the great distance.'
