Six-year-old boy Jonathan witnesses the murder of both his parents in his childhood. Growing up alone with a small bear, he is later adopted by Tawanka – a local Indian chief. On his deathbed, Tawanka asks his adoptive son to take care of the entire tribe after his death. However, the young hunter soon encounters robbers in the town who want to drive the Indians from their land and seize their territory. With the help of Shaya, a beautiful Indian girl, and Chatow, Tawanka's son, Jonathan fights to save the Indians...
