A unique documentary album composed of works by nine Czech female composers for solo cello. The interpretation of pieces by female authors has become one of the main focuses of cellist and composer Štěpán Filípek's solo recording activities at the end of the second decade of the 21st century. An important initial impulse that ultimately led to the release of the album 9 was the initiative of Czech Radio's dramaturge Martin Klusák, who in 2019 was preparing a specialized program about female composers for the station Český rozhlas Vltava. For this occasion, he invited Štěpán Filípek to record the piece Canto Amoroso by Ivana Loudová. This led to the development of an intense multi-year project, culminating in the release of the new CD. The CD's dramaturgy begins with a selection of music that was created at the end of the 20th century. The album opens with the aforementioned piece Canto Amoroso (1996) by Ivana Loudová. The following Suite for Solo Cello (1997) belongs to the works of Petra Šuško, which she completed while still a student at Prague's HAMU.
