* Marek Švejkar – clarinet * Lenka Korecká – piano ***** The debut album Connection is the result of more than a decade of performing, musical partnership, and intricate journeys through life. The entire disc is structured as a guide to Czech-French clarinet compositions, many of which have yet to find an interpreter on CD, making this a premiere. The title carries many meanings and stems from the imaginary connection between the Czech Republic and France, between which I have traveled for nearly the last ten years, along with my music. It represents the fusion of French aesthetics with the richness of Czech culture, from which all my musical inspiration arises. I would like to present the clarinet, a forgotten gem from the family of wind instruments for many of us, in a completely different light, combining listener-friendly, virtuosic, and unusual repertoire for both musically uninterested audiences and the expert public. I would like to thank my colleague Lenka for her artistic collaboration and support, with whom I have been musically growing and performing for years both domestically and around the world.
