The tea ceremony is one of the foundations of Japanese culture. It embodies the deepest and most essential concepts of Zen philosophy, hospitality, and respect. It was believed that the tea, which was brought from China during the 13th century, healed the ailments of Buddhist monks who drank it. Over the years, the tea ceremony became an opportunity for relaxation, where samurai could unwind far from the chaos of the battlefield. Master Sen no Rikyū elevated the tea ceremony to a demonstration of social status and later also to an opportunity for discussions about culture, religion, and politics throughout Japan.

In the expansion White Castle: Matcha, you will encounter new places where you can gain influence at court. If you place clan members in good spots in the 'čajicu' (tea house), you will gain even greater influence over the events at Himeji Castle. Additionally, you will roll an extra die in each round.
