The game Islands of Titans is a fast-paced strategy game reminiscent of a shorter 4X game. The first player to collect 5 points and rid their island of all monsters wins! There are three ways to earn points: summoning titans, building temples, or forging rare medallions from orichalcum – a mythical metal that can only be mined by Atlanteans. At the beginning of each turn, you choose one of the action cards remaining in the center of the table. Each card has a terrain piece on it that you will place on your island, and each card also indicates an action you can perform during that turn. The terrain pieces represent your progress in exploring the island. The types of terrain found on the piece determine what buildings or temples you can construct there. So think carefully about where you place the piece. If you form a group of tiles of the same type of terrain, you will attract the attention of a titan... and you will be able to utilize their services. On one type of terrain – volcanoes – reside mythical monsters. If you manage to defeat them, you will gain loot, which can give you a significant advantage in the game. However, they won't give up easily... battling a monster may cost you valuable hoplites or the ability to focus on developing your infrastructure during that turn.
