Singer-songwriter Mirek Paleček fulfils a long-held dream with fifteen songs from the repertoire of Jaroslav Ježek, Jiří Voskovec and Jan Werich. After decades of admiring and performing these songs, he approaches this well-known material in his own way, choosing a simpler path focused directly on the songs rather than on large sounds, powerful voices and elaborate arrangements. Accompanied by a group of studio musician friends led by guitarist Pavel Fořt, Paleček offers highly accessible recordings with a small instrumental line-up of guitars, bass guitar and guest accordion or saw. These versions present the beloved trio of Ježek, Voskovec and Werich in the spirit of home music-making, evening campfires and canoeing trips. From Civilizace to Život je jen náhoda, the album delivers sympathetic yet far from trivial interpretations of songs that have been central to several generations of listeners. It combines a strong message with a return to simplicity in a distinctive singer-songwriter style.
