Synopsis
Set between 1419 and 1420, the story captures the escalating tension and hatred of the people against the tyranny of the all-powerful Catholic Church and the nobility, leading to a revolution and the first significant victory of the "God's warriors" over the Crusader armies in the Battle of Sudoměř (Sudoměřice). In this epic narrative, King Wenceslaus IV succumbs to threats from Rome and orders the disarmament of the Prague citizens. Žižka faces a significant internal struggle before ultimately siding with the people. Defying the king's order, he opens the royal armories and distributes weapons to the populace. The Prague defenestration, marked by the hurling of councilors out of the town hall windows, ignites the Hussite revolution, against which Sigismund declares a crusade. However, King Wenceslaus IV does not live to see these events unfold.
