Synopsis
Former drug lord Carlito Brigante is released from prison through a legal loophole arranged by his confused, cocaine-dependent lawyer, David Kleinfeld. Determined to go straight, Carlito manages an upscale nightclub and seeks to rebuild his relationship with his former girlfriend, but old associates and ambitious young criminals repeatedly draw him back into the criminal underworld. His good intentions and rigid code of honor lead him into a violent struggle for survival.
