Synopsis

It is an adaptation of Wojciech Chmielarz's prose with the same title.
"Żmijowisko" tells the story of a group of friends who once a year spend a holiday together with their whole families. They end up at an agrotourism farm located in a small village called Żmijowisko. They all want to relieve the stress of fast-paced big-city life. There is alcohol, drugs, as well as long-held grudges, old feelings, mutual resentments, passions and prejudices. One evening an argument breaks out between friends. Gradually, the brutal truth about a life of lies, the duality of human nature and the debilitating obsession with jealousy and hatred is revealed. The next day, the 15-year-old daughter of one of the couples disappears. Despite the search, no one manages to find her.
A year later, her father returns to the scene of the tragedy to once again try to solve the mystery of his daughter's disappearance.
