Jachym, Throw It into the Machine / Jáchyme hodď ho do stroje
In the backdrop of Oldřich Lipský's comedy "Jáchyme, hoď ho do stroje!" from 1974, we encounter for the first time the names of the beloved creative duo Ladislav Smoljak and Zdeněk Svěrák. Already renowned as authors of entertaining radio shows, they were gearing up for the eighth season of the increasingly popular Divadlo Járy Cimrmana. While they had made minor appearances on the silver screen, their true successes lay ahead. The protagonist of their debut film narrative is the shy youth František Koudelka (L. Sobota), who believes that following a "conditiogram," a scientifically compiled record of his happy and critical days, guarantees success in life. Only after many years does he discover that the conditiogram he lived by was meant for someone else with the same name. Meanwhile, he experiences numerous tumultuous moments and unbelievable adventures. This now legendary comedy stands out as one of the finest produced during the somber normalization era. It provided a significant platform for a new generation of comedians; Josef Dvořák and Luděk Sobota found genuine success with their film debut here, with Sobota becoming synonymous with roles of timid or dim-witted youths for years to come. The film's success can be attributed to its excellent screenplay, unfolding a cascade of comedic situations, and its superb direction, leaving no opportunity untapped to delight the audience.

Ball Lightning / Kulový blesk
Kulový blesk stands as the greatest undertaking in the history of relocations. The apartment swap, orchestrated by JUDr. Radosta, requires flawless coordination. However, a plethora of complications disrupts this. The constant indecision of Mrs. Jechová, the wedding of the elderly couple Flieger and Opatrná, and eventually the drunken antics of a group led by Dr. Knotek all contribute to the chaos. These and other issues push the stressed Radosta to devilish improvisation, skirting the edges of the law...

Marecek, Pass Me the Pen! / Marečku, podejte mi pero
Jiří Kroupa, a master at the agricultural machinery factory, is compelled by the factory council to attend evening industrial school. He needs to enhance his qualifications to remain in his position after the planned modernization of the company. Joining him in the classroom is a diverse mix of students - the ambitious Hujer, the flirtatious Mrs. Týfová, troublemakers Tuček and Šlajs, scatterbrain Plha, and perennial sleepyhead Dudek. Only Hliník, who has moved to Humpolec, is absent. Despite being mostly middle-aged, they revert to behaving like schoolchildren. They complain, procrastinate, disrupt classes, and eagerly await the bell like it's their salvation. They lie about not having done their homework and play jokes on themselves and the teachers. The teachers are just as quirky as the students, with standout characters like the eccentric chemist, the Czech language teacher Hrbolek, and the class teacher Janda, who must endure numerous difficulties throughout the school year with his grown-up students, including unexpected parent-teacher meetings, especially with the Hujer family.

Three Veterans / Tři veteráni
Artilleryman Pankrác, dragoon Bimbác, and cook Servác are war veterans who receive three magical gifts from elves: a hat capable of conjuring any object, a bottomless pouch of gold coins, and a harp that summons any number of servants. While Pankrác wants to go fishing and Servác desires rest, Bimbác wishes to visit all the places where they fought. When he plans to reenact a battle on a field already plowed by a farmer, his friends decide to marry him off to distract him. The idea would be good if Bimbác didn't fall in love with the wicked Princess Bosana of the kingdom of Monte Albo, who steals the veterans' magical items with her father. Now left with nothing, they must rely on themselves. Though cunning enough to retrieve their magical items and even punish the greedy princess and her father, more importantly, they learn what truly matters in life and what doesn't, what's bothersome and what isn't.
