Synopsis
The hero of Zdeněk Podskalský's enduring comedy from 1959 is a single man in his prime, a successful doctor and scientist, somewhat mischievously nicknamed Dr. Faust by his colleagues. Absorbed in his work, he overlooks the interest women have in him and misses the persistent efforts of a dark-haired admirer to win his favor. Mental exhaustion, a series of coincidences, and references to the Faustian history of his office drive him to the brink of collapse. Everywhere he looks, he no longer sees a young and desirous girl but a cunning Mephistopheles with a single goal—to claim his soul. He embarks on a secret journey with Mephistopheles…
