Synopsis
In a reality show titled All for One, six participants are locked in a large cellar-like room. Their task: endure each other's company in cramped conditions for at least a month, with a million-dollar reward awaiting them at the end. The catch? The rules of the game aren't entirely clear. The participants create an artificial family dynamic: unemployed garbage collector Vladimir is the father, shy country girl Renata is the mother, sociology student Pavel and reserved girl Kamila are the "children, and optimistic adventurer Petr rounds out the group. The final member is the "grandfather," a former prisoner from the uranium mines. As they endure trials of mutual trust, submarine states, and tense situations, tensions escalate to unbearable levels. With no concept of time due to the lack of daylight and functioning clocks, the group faces an unsuccessful attempt to escape the confined space. Eventually, they realize that something catastrophic may have happened on the surface, leaving them forgotten forever. This independent Czech film, the first feature-length work by screenwriter and director Karel Žalud, humorously exposes the dark side of the globally popular reality show genre. It could even be considered visionary inspiration, as the film's script was conceived before this type of program appeared on Czech screens.
