Synopsis
Five-year-old Janek Dobeš (O. Mikšíček) suffers at home due to his parents' constant arguments (I. Vyskočil and K. Macháčková). His only solace is his grandfather (J. Kemr), who had to sell the family home and move in with the "young ones." The grandfather takes Janek with him to guard the family vineyard or to the pub, inadvertently passing on his life wisdom. He is grateful to have someone who listens. The old villager bitterly acknowledges the generational gaps. While he views many things with perspective, some issues remain raw for him: his long-term, unfulfilled relationship with the beloved Mrs. Albína (J. Jirásková) and his constant arguments with his best friend Hubert (M. Macháček). The modern era is relentlessly making its presence felt, and the old world must make way for it.
