Synopsis
The notorious Josef Jelínek, known as Harry, made a name for himself in the Czech First Republic with his dazzling career as an international con artist. His exclusive scam involving the sale of Karlštejn Castle earned him thirty thousand dollars as a down payment for the "sale" of "his" castle. This film, however, is not a historical reconstruction of the case. The basic facts merely served as inspiration for writer G. Oplustil to create a comedy, directed by V. Hrubín for television in 1981. Set in 1946, the story takes us to an excellent bar frequented by Prague's underworld. A professional swindler, commonly called the Engineer (O. Kaiser), bets pickpocket Franz (J. Lábus) that he can sell Karlštejn Castle to a wealthy American (A. Januš) who is currently in Prague...
