Description
Two Men from Another World / Dva z onoho sveta DVD
Synopsis
Although the title of this comedy might sound strange, it captures the plot perfectly. Twin brothers Pavel and Petr Fořt live completely different lives: Petr is a jazz musician in America, while Pavel is a professor of classical music in Prague. Due to their differing views on music, Pavel lets his brother "die" in the Czech Republic and falsely announces to America that he and his family have died. However, Petr, along with his adult son, comes to Czechoslovakia, and after some confusion and twists, the family is suddenly reunited. The differences in lifestyle and attitudes between the two brothers are evident, making it only a matter of time before they deliberately switch roles and things start to get interesting. Music plays an important role in the film, with compositions by Vlastimil Hála and Jiří Baur. The songs, performed by the Karel Vlach Orchestra and sung by Oldřich Nový, Helga Čočková, Jan Tříska, and others, became very popular.
