Synopsis
Eleven-year-old Tomáš dreams of becoming a filmmaker, and when he receives a camera for his birthday, he decides to shoot his first film about his family and friend. Through his lens, we get to know his father, mother, grandmother, and his friend Haris, who helps him with the filming. The boys have fun and enjoy making the film until they discover that the camera can reveal uncomfortable truths—like the reality about their classmate whom Tomáš loves, or the fact that his father is lying to him. Tomáš finds out that his dad secretly goes somewhere twice a week instead of going to work. Despite his fear of uncovering painful truths, Tomáš is determined to get to the bottom of it. He doesn’t realize he is about to uncover a family secret with much deeper roots than he initially thought. His revelation is both shocking and profoundly human in its simplicity.
