Synopsis
Artilleryman Pankrác, dragoon Bimbác, and cook Servác are war veterans who receive three magical gifts from sprites: a hat that can conjure any object, a bottomless pouch of gold coins, and a harp that summons any number of servants. While Pankrác wants to go fishing and Servác wants to rest, Bimbác desires to visit all the places where they fought. When Bimbác attempts to reenact a battle on a field being plowed by a farmer, his friends decide to marry him off to distract him. This plan backfires when Bimbác falls in love with the evil princess Bosana from the kingdom of Monte Albo, who, along with her father, steals their magical items. Left with nothing, the veterans must rely on their wits to reclaim their enchanted belongings and teach the greedy princess and her father a lesson. Through their adventures, they come to understand what is truly important in life and what is not, what matters and what does not.
