Synopsis
The royal falcon, proudly soaring in the blue heights above the wild mountain peaks, captivates the castle lord Balador. Whoever catches and trains the falcon will be awarded a castle on the Danube. Let's journey together into the medieval era, to the beautiful but wild mountains where fourteen-year-old Tomáš (B. Holiček) lives. He has a brave heart, awakening to unknown feelings and a longing for freedom. Tomáš lives peacefully in the forests beneath the castle of the powerful Balador (J. Kukura) with his father (V. Jedlovský), a noble groom, his grandfather Metoděj, and his sister Agáta until his father tragically dies. Forced to seek work at the castle, where the engagement of Balador's daughter, the lovely Formina (K. Jandová), to the young nobleman Ostrik (J. Žvásta) is taking place, Tomáš inadvertently gets entangled in a plot orchestrated by the evil Iver (J. Langmajer) against his long-time rival, the falconer Vagan (W. Kownacki). Vagan is slandered and must flee, but he has an ally in Tomáš, who understands the language of animals and birds and knows many secrets of nature.
