Description
The World Where One Goes Begging / Svet kde se zebra DVD
Synopsis
A polished narrative fitting the requirements of a light comedy unfolds the humorous and optimistic story of a "one-armed" beggar named Dostál. Through his exceptional begging skills, he earns enough to buy a nice house, become a respected landlord, and rescue a destitute lawyer named Neprosila, who used to regularly support him when he was well-off. Dostál also tries to match Neprosila with his lovely ward, Zorka, whom he believes would make an ideal wife. However, the young couple manages to come together on their own, despite Dostál's somewhat ineffective help. The film was showcased at the 6th Venice International Film Festival in 1938.
