Synopsis
Pravda je nejdulezitejsi (Truth Is the Most Important) is a documentary portrait of Eduard Grečner — film screenwriter, director, poet, essayist, and university professor. Despite his age, Grečner reflects with clarity and insight on the essential themes that have shaped his artistic life. Complemented by commentary from Slovak film historians, the film highlights Grečner’s lifelong pursuit of “truth in expression,” which profoundly influenced Slovak cinema. His work helped overcome the rigidity of socialist realism, introduce existential themes, and offer a critical view of contemporary society.
