Synopsis
An extraordinary event is caused by a locomotive engineer who makes an unplanned stop between fields and gets off the train to solve a minor technical problem. Unfortunately, he stops on a slight counter-slope and misses the train. He speeds off on his own and back the way he came. The passengers appreciate that they are moving again, but soon realise that they are going in the wrong direction. They protest loudly and demand information. The driver's cab is locked and no one speaks from behind the door. The first signs of panic spread among the passengers. Contact with the outside world via mobile phones is failing and the desperate shouting from the windows is not helping. The passengers finally open the door of the engineer's cabin with the help of mild violence, but there they only confirm their worst expectations - no one is driving the engine. A very disparate group of people, brought together for a while by the train ride, now have one common goal - to survive this journey in good health.
The comedy is loosely inspired by the true story of a "runaway train" that ran over its driver and passengers a few years ago in the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands. Jiří Havelka's aim was not a faithful reconstruction of the case, but another funny dive into the world of completely normal people who find themselves in an extreme situation.
