Synopsis
The story takes place in the scorching summer of 1992, six months before the division of Czechoslovakia. Young detective Richard Krauz is assigned a new case when the corpse of church custodian Klokner is exhumed from a cemetery with a nail in his head. Krauz discovers that former members of the StB (State Security) are behind the torture and that it involves a never-found file documenting the crimes of priests, which the StB used to blackmail the church. Obsessed with the case, Krauz traverses the disintegrating Czechoslovakia in search of the man to whom all clues lead: the Red Captain, a specialist in "final" interrogations. However, Krauz is not the only one searching for him...
