Synopsis
Waldemar Krzystek's film is set in December 1981. A ferry sails from Świnoujście to Hamburg. People who want to leave the country for various reasons meet on board. During the voyage, they find out that martial law has been imposed in Poland. The film is a psychological study of the passengers of the eponymous 'last ferry' faced with a dramatic choice. Made at a crucial historical moment, it remains a valuable and realistic portrayal of Poland in the early 1980s.
