Synopsis
Violinist Valenta, through his drinking and disorderly life, causes the demise of his wife. His daughter Rozárka, along with her younger sisters, moves to Prague to live with their aunt, while Valenta sets their abandoned house on fire. Rozárka falls under suspicion for the arson. This story was previously adapted into a Czech film with the same title by director Thea Červenková in 1923. In 1977, director František Filip created a television adaptation featuring actors from the National Theatre.
