The golden collection of Slovak Fairy-tales / Zlata kolekcia slovenskych rozpravok DVD
Floater and Vratko / Plavcik a Vratko
Synopsis
On the same day King Svatoslav (M. Dočolomanský) welcomes his daughter into the world, a coal burner named Matěj (V. Müller) has a son. Fate brings the king to Matěj's house that night, where a magical godmother predicts that the coal burner's son will marry the newborn princess. Horrified by this prophecy, the king sends his court astrologer (M. Lasica) to dispose of the boy. Instead, the astrologer, intimidated by omens, sends the infant down the river, where he is eventually found and raised by a childless miller (L. Haverl). Years later, King Svatoslav, stopping at the miller's, recognizes the miller’s young son, Plaváček (Š. Skrúcaný), as his daughter's destined groom. He plots to send Plaváček to his castle to be executed, but the kind godmother ensures Plaváček's safety and his eventual marriage to the princess (T. Pokorná-Herzová). In despair, the king bans laughter in his realm and sends Plaváček to fetch three golden hairs from the all-knowing Grandfather Vševěd, a quest from which no one has returned. The tale, based on traditional folklore about Plaváček and the three golden hairs of Grandfather Vševěd, was directed by Martin Ťapák from a script by Petr Glocko, inspired by the work of Slovak folklore collector Pavol Dobšinský.

Synopsis
King Blahoslav (B. Križan) is aging and decides to marry off his only daughter, Rose Blossom (Z. Skopálová), to one of King Levoslav’s (V. Müller) sons. Upon receiving the message from his old friend, Levoslav must determine which of his sons will be the future king. His sons, however, leave much to be desired—his eldest, Pravoslav (V. Černý), cares only for his appearance; the middle son, Branko (G. Kyselica), excels only in gluttony; and the youngest, Radek (M. Ťapák), a good-for-nothing who spends his time with peasants in the village, isn’t even considered. Levoslav tasks his two older sons with guarding a field trampled nightly by magical horses. Radek outsmarts his brothers, tames the horses, and from each takes a magical bridle showing an image of the beautiful Princess Rose Blossom. He sees that she is increasingly lured by the power of the cursed giant Beberič, a king of the underworld, whom Blahoslav and Levoslav had once defeated and imprisoned in the rocks. Ultimately, Rose Blossom disobeys her father’s warnings and frees Beberič, who then seizes her. Now knowing the princess's fate, Radek resolves to save her...

Synopsis
Once upon a time, there was a kingdom where beautiful white roses bloomed each morning and turned the color of the setting sun by evening. However, this kingdom also had a princess who refused to marry an evil sorcerer, prompting him to curse the land. Far from here lived a fearless woodcutter named Ondra, whose father sent him into the world to learn fear. His companion was Ferko, a thief who was not only cowardly but also lazy and deceitful. Together, they traveled from village to village, helping wherever they could—fixing things here, lifting curses there, like ridding a haunted mill of its spell. Ferko used empty words, while Ondra acted. After defeating the sorcerer, Ondra learned about the fate of the kingdom of white roses and decided to rescue the beautiful princess whose image he had seen in the enchanted mill.
