Synopsis
This poetic comedy, awarded six Czech Lions, the Prix Italia, and recognized at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, tells the story of thirty-something Jakub, whose life is falling apart. Struggling with his affair with a married woman, Tereza, dissatisfied with his job, and at odds with his father, whom he shares an apartment with, Jakub decides to change his life. He escapes to his grandfather's abandoned country house, unaware that his stay will be extended after meeting a mysterious girl. The film is celebrated for its visual poetry, directed by Martin Šulík, with Roman Luknár in the lead role. Marián Labuda received a Czech Lion for his performance as Jakub's father.
