Synopsis
Directed by Miroslav Krobot, the six-part television series features the entire ensemble of Dejvice Theatre, including all actors, other employees, relatives, and friends, each playing themselves. The series begins with the once-famous, perhaps even iconic, Dejvice Theatre facing an unexpected and essentially existential challenge. The cultural institution fails to secure a grant for its operations and is forced to become more self-sufficient, needing to raise funds while maintaining its artistic ambitions. This sets the stage for a comedic series in which the main and only hero is the collective of Dejvice Theatre, whose existence teeters on the brink of ruin. The series blends mystification with elements of absurd and black humor, drawing on the distinctive poetic style of Dejvice Theatre.
