Description
The Bitch's Diary / Bestiar DVD
Synopsis
Ambitious Karolina juggles her studies at university, works as an editor for a fashion magazine, and teaches non-verbal communication courses. Her orderly life is unexpectedly disrupted by a relationship with the somewhat egocentric stockbroker Alex, who brings her a series of bitter disappointments. Though Alex is attentive, he primarily thinks of himself and pays more attention to his friends than to Karolina. The relationship, filled with insecurity, disappointments, and renewed hopes, increasingly throws Karolina off balance and drains her. Despite this, she chooses Alex over the affection of the shy Honzík. Several months later, when she discovers that Alex is living with the much older Patricia, she leaves him and decides to become the same kind of monster that, in her opinion, men are. An independent, selfish beast who will toy with guys. She sleeps with a freshly widowed pianist and a down-to-earth farmer named Marek, flirts with the mentally unstable minister Jarmil Dobrý, but when she tries with Honzík, the disappointed young man rejects her. It seems that even as a beast, Karolina won't find happiness. So when Alex reaches out again after some time, she can't resist and accepts his marriage proposal. However, another bitter disappointment awaits her soon after.
