Synopsis
Some children don't have it easy at home. While eight-year-old Vítek Koudelka has two dads and two moms, his classmate Amálka Rychmanová has only one dad, whom she sees once a month because he's a rescuer in the Alps. This also bothers her mom, ballet dancer Anna, who wants them to be a normal, functioning family. When Luboš comes home fourteen days early, Amálka refuses to go to the school in nature. But when her dad goes to school to apologize, both Amálka and he end up going with the class. Before that, the family, along with Vašek, goes to grandpa Pepík, who lured them under the false pretense of getting married. He may be single for now, but he's not short on potential brides. Not only the neighbor Mrs. Bobulová but also the mayor's secretary Julča are trying to catch him. Luboš and Amálka leave, promising to return in three days, meeting everyone at grandpa's place, who, for a change, is going to Prague for a computer course. However, during the trip, the educator Boženka gets injured, and Luboš has to stay longer. The kids adore him, but the perpetually grumpy teacher Alice is never satisfied. Anna is also furious when she sees Luboš with Alice after the class returns, convinced they have something going on. She argues with him and tells him she wants a divorce. Vítek isn't having it easy either, with four parents, none of whom pay attention to what he wants. And grandpa's duo of potential brides is joined by the quirky teacher Kája. The situation is getting more complicated, and a happy ending seems out of reach.
