Synopsis
Everything begins when Simon Planicka, a student of the Agricultural University, arrives in the small South Bohemian village of Hostice to join the local collective farm for summer work. At the same time, he wants to test his experiment on "cow milk yield in relation to cultural environment." The farm leadership, however, has no interest in such a dubious idea. Things change quickly when rumors spread through the village that Simon might actually be the son of the regional agricultural director—who happens to share the same last name. Blažena, the daughter of Mrs. Skopková with whom Simon is staying, is tasked with finding out the truth. But everything becomes complicated when Blažena’s jealous boyfriend Venca steps in. Before its release, the film had to be shortened by ten minutes.
