Synopsis
In the river, the body of an unknown man is found, leading Captain Rott (Matěj Hádek) on a journey into an entirely different story. He becomes entangled in the romantic drama of the main character, Mára/Kamil (Jiří Macháček), who leads two parallel lives with two beautiful women (Eva Herzigová and Aňa Geislerová). For Mára, women are a challenge, a passion, and an inspiration, objects of both love and the lies he builds with such ease that he hardly realizes it. He lives in the world of his grand living dream, where only the present matters, forgetting yesterday and not waiting for tomorrow. This dream uplifts him but destroys those he wishes to love. "The Fairytale Keeper" tells a unique, yet familiar story of desire, deceit, and eternal forgiveness. It portrays people lost in the labyrinth of love, unable or unwilling to find a way out, for love and lies alike can be blind. As Captain Rott delves deeper into understanding who Mára/Kamil was, he begins to comprehend not only why he lived as he did but also the enduring love of his two partners. And perhaps, thanks to Mára, he might find the key to solving his own crumbling life.
