Synopsis
In the early 1930s, Dr. Alfred Blalock and his assistant Vivien Thomas challenge the limits of medicine while treating children born with a serious heart defect, known as “blue babies.” Their development of new treatment methods faces opposition from a society that questions Thomas’s abilities because he is Black and lacks a university education. Directed by Joseph Sargent and starring Alan Rickman and Mos Def.
