Synopsis
The detective comedy directed by Pavel Blumenfeld revolves around former pickpockets who, except for one, have turned over a new leaf and lead respectable and peaceful lives, desperately trying to avoid any reminders of their past. One of them, Josef Fiala, formerly known as Procházka, is asked one day to open a safe at the Sitex factory that was accidentally locked with the keys inside by employees. The operation goes smoothly, but soon Fiala finds himself suspected of theft... The film, created in 1957-1958 based on a screenplay by Miloš V. Kratochvíl and Zdeněk Podskalský, is infused with satirical and humorous elements by Podskalský, enriching the case's atmosphere. The director chose a cast of seasoned actors - Ladislav Pešek, Jan Pivec, Martin Růžek, Rudolf Hrušínský, and Eduard Kohout.
