Synopsis
Set in early 17th-century Prague, this story unfolds around Rozina, a young ward in the Franciscan convent. She falls in love with Nikolo, an Italian glassworker, but their romance is cut short when he returns to Italy and promises never to come back to Prague. Heartbroken, Rozina succumbs to the persuasion of the guild master Kraft, who promises to procure a status of marital origin for her, leading her to marry him. However, the miserly old Kraft breaks his promise. The plot takes a turn when Nikolo unexpectedly returns to Prague, sealing the tragic fate of the unfortunate Rozina in a tale of love, betrayal, and tragedy.
