Pupendo Remastered Blu-Ray
Synopsis
Pupendo is a heartfelt and ironic portrait of life in Czechoslovakia before Orwell’s year 1984, created by the acclaimed team behind Pelíšky and Divided We Fall. The story follows sculptor Bedřich Mára (Bolek Polívka), once a respected artist now sidelined for political reasons, living with his family on the outskirts of Prague. His quiet resistance contrasts sharply with the opportunism of his former classmates, who have adapted to the communist system. Through humor, nostalgia, and human warmth, Pupendo captures the absurdities and quiet despair of everyday life in late socialism — a moving reflection on compromise, freedom, and hope.
