Synopsis
In this legendary fairy tale enriched with beloved songs by Z. Svěrák and J. Uhlíř, now a part of Czech Television's golden repertoire, the power of work and knowledge is celebrated. Phrases like "Work drives away all sorrows, work is the cure" and "Statistics might be boring but hold valuable information, let's not despair, it will calculate for us" are iconic. The story unfolds in the dream of little Martin (J. Kaněra), whose mother (J. Bohdalová) tells him they'll have a new father. In his dream, he finds himself in a kingdom threatened by an evil dragon. Smart and fairy-tale savvy, Martin advises the king (V. Menšík) on how to defeat the dragon—suggesting they need Honza. Honza (J. Čenský) builds a strong wall, rids the kingdom of the dragon, falls in love with the princess (I. Andrlová), leading to a happily ever after.
