Description
The Last Race / Posledni zavod DVD
Synopsis
Before the First World War, the Krkonoše was a poor region where the Czech and German elements clashed. Bohumil Hanč was the most famous Czech skier of his time, winning races at home and abroad. Emerich Rath, a versatile athlete, was the only German to participate in Czech races; other Germans from the Krkonoše Mountains boycotted them for nationalistic reasons. Therefore, Hanč and Rath knew each other well and met at the start of an important race in March 1913. After the first round, the weather on the ridges deteriorated sharply, a snowstorm broke out and everyone gradually gave up. Hanč was left alone on the track, but the race for first place turned into a race for his life. Vrbata stood on the track as the only spectator, Rath went to Hanč's aid and all three began to write a story of heroism, courage, will and friendship in the inhuman cold and impenetrable blizzard.
